It uses proprietary patented* technology to embed imperceptible watermarks directly into audio content so they cannot be removed without degrading the original signal. AWT2 watermarks are inaudible and highly robust, surviving multi-pass low-bitrate transcoding, mixing, effect processing, acoustic coupling (transducing via air), and time stretching. AWT2 offers a very high watermarking data rate of up to 125 bps (roughly 15 bytes per second of audio), with watermark payloads of up to 120 bytes. AWT2 evaluation package is available upon request.
